Initially started as a buying house cum sampling Unit, Birdy expanded as a manufacturer too, through Akshaya. Today Birdy Exports group includes

  • 1300 employees
  • 660 stitching machines

Our company has also installed sophisticated machinaries in all processes (sewing, cutting, CAD and finishing) to ensure an efficient production, reduction of costs, and optimum utilisation.   

Besides, independant exporters associated with Birdy manufacture orders from Birdy. The whole process is monitored by Birdy Merchandisers as a Buying House.

 COMPANY HISTORY 

In 1982, Denis and Florence GERMAIN
a french couple, first started their career in an NGO in Madurai (south India). During six years, they created several small scale industries in villages and slums. The aim was procuring employment in rural areas, and it was the first step of  "social entrepreneurship"  in the humanitarian world.

Definitively in love with India, Denis and Florence Germain decided to continue their life in India, keeping the same goal of creating employment but with  different strategy and do business with a social mind.    

In 1994, they settled in Bangalore with their 3 children and since then, it was a growing process for all!
